Monday afternoon and evening rain
Rain is already falling in most places and it will pick up steam through Monday afternoon and into the evening. The main thrust of this latest front will happen in the 1-4PM period and should be accompanied with some strong southerly or southeasterly winds as well.
Wind and rainfall will be just below warning levels for the east and west coasts of the Island.
We’ll get another push of rain and wind, this time southeasterly, early on Tuesday morning. Below is the 4-7AM picture.
That front will quickly move up the Island and exit the area before noon Tuesday.
Another 1-2 punch Wednesday afternoon/Thursday morning
We get a break for most of Tuesday and Wednesday but by Wednesday afternoon more rain and wind will arrive. Below is the 1-4PM picture for Wednesday showing rain arriving by 4PM on the West Coast but a little later inland and on the east and south end of the Island.
Like today’s system, The Wednesday rain will go into the evening but then be followed by a stronger punch early Thursday setting up for 2 days of rain.
The Wednesday/Thursday event has some hallmarks of Atmospheric River and the rain may last into Friday night but it’s not too serious. The next two weeks continue to look mainly wet and windy. So more of the same through January.
Happy Monday all!
