April 2024 – Short Update – Just Stats
I wasn’t able to get the monthly summary done this month so here it is a month late! Stats below!
This Month’s Timelapse
To make matters worse, as I was setting up the two new webcams and programming the software to take the pictures and make the videos, I accidentally deleted the entire April 2024 image set! So I am sorry, there is no timelapse for this month!

Airport Daily Records Set this Month
Set at Airport* since 1994 and compared to Valley stations** for all time.
(since 1895 for rain, 1900 for temperatures, 1980 for snow on ground)
Only three new marks were set. All were for low temperatures and none came near an all time mark.
- April 5 – Low Temp -3.5º C. All Time is -5.6º C at Beaver Creek in 1911
- April 17 – Low Temp -2.8º C. All Time is -5.6º C at Beaver Creek in 1909
- April 18 – Low Temp -2.7º C. All Time is -4.5º C at Robertson Creek in 1982

** Short Term means since 1994 at the new AVRA Airport. Airport Records are compared to the 30+ year weather stations of record since 1900 (1895 for rain) at Beaver Creek, Port Alberni “City” and Robertson Creek. Note that records pre 1950 may be more likely to over-estimate high temperatures.
