Once again there is dissension in the model ranks. Contrary to the official EC forecast, the UW forecast model has no chance of precipitation of any kind today, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday morning.
Here is the precip map stretching from Thursday 4AM to Sunday 4AM.
It’s bone dry for us. So if we do happen to get any precipitation, don’t expect it to be anything more than drizzle or the lightest flurry.
As Sunday rolls around, things get more interesting. We should get cold again as this image shows. The entire Island and region is forecast to be at or below 0°C. (32°F on the map… Man I wish they would just use metric/international units!)
If it does indeed get that cold, it is going to potentially lead to one of our famous and loveable dump and wash events as a warm front pushes onto the coach Sunday afternoon, intensifies Sunday night and extends in Monday morning.
This forecast is still early, so amounts will certainly change or may disappear but like last week, the GFS has been consistent through the last few runs on this happening with only timing changing slightly.
The forecast has us changing over to rain early Monday morning but at this point it’s not worth being any more specific since the timing is bound to change. Just know that we are likely to have snow and/or rain on Sunday night and rain on Monday with slush and perhaps freezing rain in between. Good times!
