A special post just because of the persistent fog keeping the temperature well below freezing. It is currently -1.7ºC. The temperature has only risen 0.4ºC in the past hour and there are only a few more hours of strong sunlight to go, sunset is at 5:01PM.
Moisture should start to invade between 2-3PM this afternoon.
If the fog does not lift by then and we don’t get above freezing then the rain could fall as snow or freezing rain until the warm wind comes and it finally warms us up.
The main body of rain won’t come until around 6PM or 7PM though so it is possible we don’t warm up until then.
The fog and cold is sure producing some beautiful frost though. My wife just took this picture of a holly bush.
Stay safe out there.
There is also the outside-outside chance that we do not warm up right away in the evening, which would mean an extend period of freezing rain and/or wet snow.
It all depends on that fog though. If it lifts before the sun goes down, rain will be the only thing that falls.
Have fun out there.
