Hot Start
It’s going to get up to 29ºC today, that’s hot for the end of September (don’t be surprised if we hit 30). What we really want to know how is when the switch will finally get flipped and we get into some fall stormy/rainy weather.
It had looked like this week might be it as a train of storms was forecast to set up across the North Pacific. Is that still happening? Here’s the wind forecast this morning looking at Wednesday morning. The N Pacific is plenty active.
If we switch it over to rain, there isn’t a huge amount of moisture, but at least the beginnings of a Pineapple Connection between Hawaii and the Pacific Northwest. Perhaps a sign of things to come.
By Wednesday afternoon, the European model (above) has us getting wet, and maybe a little windy. The GFS model (below) has a weaker system further south. We’ll see which one is correct.
Let’s hope we get some rain out of this one.
Clearing and warm into the Weekend
Tuesday night and Wednesday are our best bet for precipitation. Thursday through the weekend looks dry again and relatively warm but not as hot as the beginning of the week.
The super long range 16 day forecast has the clouds rolling in next week.
We’ll see if the beginning of October will be the beginning of fall weather or if we have a few more weeks of dry weather to go.
Happy Monday!
