After a couple of wild days things should start to settle down today. Then the battle begins between the cold and the warm air.
The models have been pretty consistent with cold air, especially for later this week… but they aren’t totally unanimous.
The GFS has us getting mightily cold the first week of march… down to -20! I don’t see that happening at this point, but it’s something to consider as far as the direction we’re headed.
The Canadian model has us remaining pretty steady at or just above freezing. It doesn’t go past this Sunday though so, who knows what’s in store after that.
The European model seems to be similar to the Canadian model and has us staying at or above freezing until Friday, at which point cold air spreads in.
I think the take away message for the rest of this week is be prepared for anything. There won’t be a lot of precipitation after today, but when there is some, it may fall as snow in the higher elevations especially and you can also expect some nice clear breaks and probably some fog too.
Good old West Coast weather, don’t like the weather, just wait a few minutes. 🙂

It rains, then snows, then rains, then snows… I’d prefer just snow.
Well, the lawn here is mostly white… covered enough for me to classify it as a snow day.
