Beware – Possible “Straight Effect” Snow on East Coast

There is a snowfall warning posted for the East Coast of Vancouver Island tonight.

“A narrow band of heavy snow is forecast to form in an unstable flow across Georgia strait that will slide southward through East Vancouver Island this evening. This burst of snow is expected to affect areas from Campbell River to Nanaimo this evening. Snow will likely be mixed in with rain initially but will quickly change to snow as the atmosphere cools. Current indications are suggesting that snowfall accumulations may locally reach 5 to 10 centimetres although amounts will likely vary throughout the region. Visibility may be reduced significantly in heavy snow making driving conditions difficult. Motorists are advised to exercise extra caution when driving in adverse weather. ”

Be careful out there!
