Christmas Forecast – Looking Green – And send in you Christmas Lights Suggestions

Christmas Lights on the Podcast

Here’s today’s podcast to go along with this post.

I’ve had a Christmas a Christmas Lights Map on the website here for a number of years. You can go check it out and either follow the path or just pick a few of the spots on the map to go check out if you’re out and about with some hot chocolate and christmas tunes in the car.

If you have any suggestions or updates that you think I need to make (including addresses that maybe aren’t as shiny anymore!) just shoot me an email at alberniweather@gmail.com or a reply on Mastodon @alberniweather@mstdn.ca

Christmas Forecast looking very Green

The SpotWX 16 model now reaches out to December 24 and one thing is for sure, it is not looking very cold!

The closer we get to Christmas the warmer it looks in fact. So I don’t think you want to be betting any money on us having a white Christmas this year.

The best chance for snow before Christmas looks like early next week. We may see some near-freezing temperatures on Monday and Tuesday next week which could see a chance of flurries but I don’t think there is a big chance and certainly nothing that might produce a large amount of snow.

Foggy for the Philippine Mars

The next few days certainly look foggy again so I don’t think Philippine will be able to escape Sproat Lake any time soon. The next chance might be Thursday or Friday when a weak system approaches the Island with some southerly winds but even that looks tentative at this point. What they really need is a nice been Arctic ridge to come down from the Interior and give us some crystal clear skies but I don’t see that happening until after Christmas at best!

We will be in and out of the fog for the next week. I’ll update again in a few days once we are a little closer to seeing if this weekend’s rain is going to happen or if it will evaporate before it gets to us.

Have a great Monday!
