As as the old sailors rhyme says…Red sky at night, sailors delight, Red sky in morning, sailors warning. Today the sky is certainly a beautiful red. Thanks to my wife for just sending me the picture above!
The long tendrils of moisture are reaching up from the tropics and are going to deliver some serious rain especially on Monday.
There will be 4 pulses of rain and wind starting this afternoon.
Pulse #1:
The wind should come first with blustery conditions around 1-2PM. Showers will begin around 3PM, intensify around 6PM and be done by 8PM. Only 1-2mm of rain is expected between 5AM Friday/Saturday.
Pulse #2:
Rain will begin around 11AM Saturday, peak around 2PM, and end around 6PM. 8mm of rain is expected between 5AM Saturday/Sunday. The wind will be more variable and will be in the early afternoon.
Pulse #3:
It will start strong around 2PM and then taper off through evening ending around 8PM. Another 8mm of rain is expected between 5AM Sunday/Monday. The Wind will be the most interesting feature for this one… It will come in around midnight and could provide some power outages over the night hours.
Pulse #4
This is supposed to be the strongest pulse starting before sunrise with heavy rain and rain lasting through the morning. It is going to rain very hard all day. A whopping 65mm is predicted for our area between 5AM Monday/Tuesday, possibly more. Up to 120mm will fall on the West Coast.
I wish you all a very happy and safe Thanksgiving.
