It will be hot today and pretty warm Thursday too. Unfortuantely, the weekend isn’t looking like the best May long weekend weather, but it might not be too bad.
Summary:
Today we should get into the 28ºC range. We very nearly broke a record yesterday when the official station got to 26.6ºC. The record (since 1994) was 26.9ºC set in 2012. We have a chance at breaking the record for today which is 28.9ºC. Thursday it will taper off a bit to 25ºC and Friday’s forecast is very uncertain temperature wise (EC says 20ºC UWash says barely 10ºC!) Friday will bring some chance of rain showers especially on the West Coast and Saturday and Sunday afternoon look wet everywhere on the Island. It dries out Monday.
Details:
Most people are going to be most concerned about the forecast for the weekend so here it is… I’ll update this post if anything changes drastically but I don’t expect it to.
Friday:
Chance of showers will start by sunrise. But it stay mostly confined to the West Coast as you can see below.
Temperatures are very uncertain at this point with 10 degrees difference between the Environment Canada (20ºC) and U Washington (10ºC) forecasts! I’ll update.
Saturday:
By Midday Saturday showers will spread throughout the region.
Highs to 13ºC
Sunday:
The morning should be dry but by the afternoon the threat of rain will return and will make for another soggy campfire night.
Highs to 16ºC
Monday:
Looks like the best day. Forecast is completely dry. Highs to 18ºC.
