Light flurries this morning – More potential on Sunday morning

There were light flurries on the whole drive between Port Alberni and Parksville this morning.  The roads were only wet however though there are some reports of snow sticking in the Qualicum area and at higher elevations in Port Alberni.

UWash has the south east corner of the Island around Cowichan and the Gulf Islands getting some accumulation in the 7-10AM period this morning if it stays around 0°C.

Things get more interesting on Sunday in the early morning when the model has widespread light snow across the Island.

But you should notice the Alberni Valley is clear.  Most of the snow potential will be on the East Coast again.

This will all depend on the temperature overnight as the daytime tenperatures are still expected to get well above freezing so no matter what I would be surprised if there was any snow left by the afternoon on Sunday.

Have a great weekend!
