New Rain Season begins… just in time for the weekend.

You’ll notice that the Yearly rain (and ET) dial has reset to 0. That’s because our official “rain year” starts on October 1st. Our total for the 2007-2008 Season was 1221mm, 1.2 meters or almost 4ft of precipitation. This includes snow melt on the station as well.

That is below the “normal” of about 1900mm if you add up the monthly normals at the Environment Canada normals page for the old Alberni Airport on the Somass. There is a link to all the normals under Archives.

Which is appropriate, as we’re slated to get 15-25mm of rain tomorrow and probably a bunch more on Friday night or Saturday. 🙂

I’m off to Mexico on Friday for the week.. so enjoy the rain! muuaahahha 😀
