The rain will continue most of the day today. It should end by sometime this afternoon. After that we will be progressively drier and colder as a strong shot of cold comes in from the NorthEast part of BC and swoops down our way.
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will be our coldest days. Whether it is clear and cold, or foggy and not-as-cold is always difficult to say but right now I’m leaning towards it being clear and it reaching the -3C to -5C range forecast from Friday and Saturday mornings.
There is a good likelyhood for ice on Friday and Saturday mornings so keep that in mind.
By Sunday the cold should pull back into the Interior and another rain system will sweep in. Sometimes in those transitions we get a bit of snow and indeed the freezing level should be down near 1000ft or 400m (the Hump is 410m) so there will be a chance that the highway passes will see their first snow of the year.
Stay safe out there.
Get your Guess in BEFORE Monday.
Oh, and I liked this shot from the Harbour webcam today.
Given the forecast, it looks like this weekend will be the start of the highway webcam winter duties!

Nice shot of the Taokas Wisdom being berthed at wharf #3. I was talking to that vessel on her voyage up the canal this morning. And that water sure looks calmer than what we had outside of work this afternoon!
