The snapshot from right now, 7AM is a perfect, image of the brooding, moody, weather.
Fall is here, and that means the weather is unpredictable and wild. Boy did we get a dose of wild yesterday!
That was best lightning storm I’ve seen in Port Alberni in a number of years, (the last one destroyed my weather server!). But we are going to get a break just in time for the 2013 Salmon Festival!
First though a bit of a recap:
Since yesterday morning at this time we received 10mm of rain. In total this week we got 32mm of rain which brings us to 53mm of rain for the month. Just above the normal of 50mm. I’m willing to bet when the numbers come in at the end of the month out at the Airport, they will have gotten a bit more than that.
The weekend looks great:
The best days will definitely be Saturday and Sunday.
Expect low cloud and fog for all three days. It shouldn’t get warm enough (up to 26C) in the Valley to cause any big thermals to come in in the afternoons but no doubt it will still be breezy down the Inlet.
Monday will bring showers again.
Early Monday morning there will be another front coming through that will likely bring some blustery winds and showers, especially to the West Coast, so if you are going to be in Barkley Sound or the far reaches of the Inlet, you might want to be prepared. Monitor the Marine forecasts.
