This is more like February weather than November weather but I don’t think anyone is complaining.
First, here is the cause of our sunny and cold weather.
A strong ridge of high pressure and a big omega block of the jetstream over BC is deflecting the storm track well away from the BC coast and allowing cold air to stream to the coast from the cold North interior of the continent.
Here is anofher pic showing the jetstream on Tuesday. As you can see, it isn’t changing too much. It remains weak in our area and mainly deflected to the north.
Snow Contest Coming! But is the snow?
This all means it is going to stay clear and cold until sometime next week… What happens when this cold snap breaks and moisture comes in from the Pacific? Well, on Sunday the Snow Contest will open. You might want to start thinking about your guesses…. and it may be sooner rather than later. 🙂
New features and return of old
Finally you will notice the conditions have been updated a bit on the side. I’ve goneback to highlighting the background for the color warnings rather than the text. It is simply more legible. I need to make it a little more mobile friendly (the text is getting squished) but I think it is better with the headings for each value too. I will be also adding back a full Almanac so you can see the full array of data that the station provides. I’ve been kind of busy for a while so this has all taken longer than I hoped but it is getting there.
Have a Happy Thursday. I will be back tomorrow!

Snow contest! Snow contest! I think it is going to snow nex Thursday!
Ok. You can wait until after the election
Great to have the site back to normal operation. Funny how twitchy I can get when one of my fave resources thumbs its nose at me.
Oh, and looking forward to Saturday. I would love to see you elected, but more than anything, there needs to be more discussion, more participation, and an ongoing commitment to keep the Mayor and Council on the path to a better community. Looking for 80% turnout (been hanging too much with Winston Joseph?)
Optimism is never a bad thing! 🙂
Qu’est-ce qu’optimisme? disait Cacambo. — Hélas! dit Candide, c’est la rage de soutenir que tout est bien quand on est mal.
