So… I’ve known this for a few days now and have been biting my tongue in the interest of fairness to the game… but since it’s in the Environment Canada forecast there’s no denying it anymore. It looks like we might get some snow later this week!
This cool down in the weather pattern has been shown in models in the past week or two. It’s been kind of exciting for me to see it there and wonder if it would hold or go away before the end of the guessing period on Tuesday.
There is no indication yet on the amount of white stuff we might receive. Remember, as far as the contest is concerned, flakes in the air doesn’t count. There has to be a covering of snow on the grass at Alberniweather.ca that is thick enough to measure with a standard ruler.
So all you folk putting in guess for Thursday… good luck! But everyone else, don’t despair, the first snow is quite often not what we all might hope for. 🙂
The Contest will close (by closing the Comments section) at 6AM on Tuesday the 16th.
Good Luck to everyone!

Early this morning EC was forecasting colder, but clearing toward the end of the week. This change will be interesting! By the way, 4 years ago today I was pumping sewage out of my basement as the result of the first huge storm that year.
Ya it’s looking downright chilly next week…
Winter is definitely making its first appearance… a full month ahead of schedule.
Ah yes, 2006. Right about now I too was probably trying to figure out how what to do with the carpet we had in our basement….
I just noticed the GFS has temperatures dowm to -10 by next Tuesday!
yep! Below that it looks like possibly on the East Coast!
