The fire report this morning has the fire at double yhe last report. It is now 3 hectares (7 acres). You could also call it 2 Martin Mars large. (The Hawaii Mars covers about 3-4 acres per drop. She is currently awaiting repair though from the damaged suffered in Osh Kosh)
The fire weather forecast from Friday for our region has indicates warm weather is expected to continue today and there is the possibility it may intensify mid week next week so it is important that they get this fire under control and in mop up before then.
If you have pictures of the fire don’t hesitate to send them along.

The BC Wildifre service has aircraft and ground crews on it according to the City.

There is nothing to say but that this is totally unacceptable and irresponsible. This fire was set last night, intentionally or not, by a person reportedly around 6KM up Comox Main road past Beaver Creek.
