The remains of typhoon Roke have caused wind warnings for all regions of Vancouvr Island but us. The north island can expect gusts to 100kph… The south up to 90kph.
The Powell River ferry from Comox has already been cancelled this morning due to the weather and don’t be surprised if some or all of the Vancouver routes get delayed or cancelled as well. Check Bc ferries in the links here or phone them before going.
Don’t be too surprised if the Valley gets more wind than forecast… They often have a hard time figuring out what gusts will channel up the Inlet and what won’t.
But certainly if you are on the road, watch for falling branches and gusty winds. Highway 19 between QB and Nanaimo are pretty blustery as I type this… Small cars beware.
The wind and rain should die down some by this afternoon and evening.
